Myanmar / Burma Travel Update
Since I was there, the situation in Myanmar/Burma has changed a lot. In February 2021, a military coup sparked widespread civil unrest and armed conflict.
The U.S. State Department currently advises: "Do not travel to Burma due to civil unrest and armed conflict." You can find their full travel advisory and security alerts here. And you can find the British Foreign Office's travel advice for Myanmar / Burma here.
Lemyethna Pagoda is located in the eastern part of the Bagan Plain and was built in 1222. It features intricate figure frescoes on its interior walls and ceilings.
Based on some of the ruins nearby, the temple was likely originally part of a monastery.1

What to Know Before You Go
Lemyethna Pagoda is located in the eastern part of the Bagan Archaeological Zone, not far from Nyaung-U. It’s across the road from Minnanthu Village.
The best way to get there is by car–electric scooters might be okay, but you’ll need to ensure they have enough power to return back to Old Bagan or New Bagan so that you don’t get stranded.
